The Scores virus comes from the United States. Its author insists that all he wanted to do was study virus behavior; unfortunately for the rest of us, this virus expanded rapidly from Macintosh to Macintosh.
One of this virus’ distinguishing characteristics is that it changes the icon of the “Scrapbook File” and “Notepad File” into generic icons, and creates them if they don’t already exist. It also places two invisible files in the System Folder named “Scores” and “Desktop ” (note the space at the end of Desktop).
This virus does not attack applications, but simply infects them; this results in slower Macintosh operation, and causes problems when printing.
